CVE-2018-9251 2 Debian, Xmlsoft 2 Debian Linux, Libxml2 2023-12-10 2.6 LOW 5.3 MEDIUM
The xz_decomp function in xzlib.c in libxml2 2.9.8, if --with-lzma is used, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a crafted XML file that triggers LZMA_MEMLIMIT_ERROR, as demonstrated by xmllint, a different vulnerability than CVE-2015-8035.
CVE-2017-7375 3 Debian, Google, Xmlsoft 3 Debian Linux, Android, Libxml2 2023-12-10 7.5 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
A flaw in libxml2 allows remote XML entity inclusion with default parser flags (i.e., when the caller did not request entity substitution, DTD validation, external DTD subset loading, or default DTD attributes). Depending on the context, this may expose a higher-risk attack surface in libxml2 not usually reachable with default parser flags, and expose content from local files, HTTP, or FTP servers (which might be otherwise unreachable).
CVE-2017-16932 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
parser.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 does not prevent infinite recursion in parameter entities.
CVE-2017-16931 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 7.5 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
parser.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 mishandles parameter-entity references because the NEXTL macro calls the xmlParserHandlePEReference function in the case of a '%' character in a DTD name.
CVE-2015-9019 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxslt 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
In libxslt 1.1.29 and earlier, the EXSLT math.random function was not initialized with a random seed during startup, which could cause usage of this function to produce predictable outputs.
CVE-2017-9049 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictComputeFastKey function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for libxml2 Bug 759398.
CVE-2016-4483 3 Debian, Oracle, Xmlsoft 3 Debian Linux, Solaris, Libxml2 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
The xmlBufAttrSerializeTxtContent function in xmlsave.c in libxml2 allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) via a non-UTF-8 attribute value, related to serialization. NOTE: this vulnerability may be a duplicate of CVE-2016-3627.
CVE-2017-5029 7 Apple, Debian, Google and 4 more 10 Macos, Debian Linux, Android and 7 more 2023-12-10 6.8 MEDIUM 8.8 HIGH
The xsltAddTextString function in transform.c in libxslt 1.1.29, as used in Blink in Google Chrome prior to 57.0.2987.98 for Mac, Windows, and Linux and 57.0.2987.108 for Android, lacked a check for integer overflow during a size calculation, which allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory write via a crafted HTML page.
CVE-2017-9047 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
A buffer overflow was discovered in libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801. The function xmlSnprintfElementContent in valid.c is supposed to recursively dump the element content definition into a char buffer 'buf' of size 'size'. The variable len is assigned strlen(buf). If the content->type is XML_ELEMENT_CONTENT_ELEMENT, then (i) the content->prefix is appended to buf (if it actually fits) whereupon (ii) content->name is written to the buffer. However, the check for whether the content->name actually fits also uses 'len' rather than the updated buffer length strlen(buf). This allows us to write about "size" many bytes beyond the allocated memory. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash.
CVE-2017-9048 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow. The function xmlSnprintfElementContent in valid.c is supposed to recursively dump the element content definition into a char buffer 'buf' of size 'size'. At the end of the routine, the function may strcat two more characters without checking whether the current strlen(buf) + 2 < size. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash.
CVE-2016-9318 3 Canonical, Xmlsec Project, Xmlsoft 3 Ubuntu Linux, Xmlsec, Libxml2 2023-12-10 4.3 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
libxml2 2.9.4 and earlier, as used in XMLSec 1.2.23 and earlier and other products, does not offer a flag directly indicating that the current document may be read but other files may not be opened, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct XML External Entity (XXE) attacks via a crafted document.
CVE-2017-9050 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictAddString function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-1839.
CVE-2017-8872 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2023-12-10 6.4 MEDIUM 9.1 CRITICAL
The htmlParseTryOrFinish function in HTMLparser.c in libxml2 2.9.4 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (buffer over-read) or information disclosure.
CVE-2016-4658 2 Apple, Xmlsoft 5 Iphone Os, Mac Os X, Tvos and 2 more 2023-12-10 10.0 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
xpointer.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 (as used in Apple iOS before 10, OS X before 10.12, tvOS before 10, and watchOS before 3, and other products) does not forbid namespace nodes in XPointer ranges, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (use-after-free and memory corruption) via a crafted XML document.
CVE-2015-8241 5 Canonical, Debian, Hp and 2 more 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Icewall Federation Agent and 6 more 2023-12-10 6.4 MEDIUM N/A
The xmlNextChar function in libxml2 2.9.2 does not properly check the state, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) or obtain sensitive information via crafted XML data.
CVE-2016-1837 6 Apple, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 14 Iphone Os, Mac Os X, Tvos and 11 more 2023-12-10 4.3 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
