CVE-2024-23826 1 Se.math.spbu 1 Spbu Se Site 2024-02-08 N/A 5.7 MEDIUM
spbu_se_site is the website of the Department of System Programming of St. Petersburg State University. Before 2024.01.29, when uploading an avatar image, an authenticated user may intentionally use a large Unicode filename which would lead to a server-side denial of service under Windows. This is due to no limitation of the length of the filename and the costly use of the Unicode normalization with the form NFKD on Windows OS. This vulnerability was fixed in the 2024.01.29 release.
CVE-2023-45028 1 Qnap 3 Qts, Quts Hero, Qutscloud 2024-02-06 N/A 4.9 MEDIUM
An uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability has been reported to affect several QNAP operating system versions. If exploited, the vulnerability could allow authenticated administrators to launch a denial-of-service (DoS) attack via a network. We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following versions: QTS 5.1.5.2645 build 20240116 and later QuTS hero h5.1.5.2647 build 20240118 and later QuTScloud c5.1.5.2651 and later
CVE-2023-6476 1 Redhat 2 Enterprise Linux, Openshift Container Platform 2024-02-04 N/A 7.5 HIGH
A flaw was found in CRI-O that involves an experimental annotation leading to a container being unconfined. This may allow a pod to specify and get any amount of memory/cpu, circumventing the kubernetes scheduler and potentially resulting in a denial of service in the node.
CVE-2023-2650 2 Debian, Openssl 2 Debian Linux, Openssl 2024-02-04 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
Issue summary: Processing some specially crafted ASN.1 object identifiers or data containing them may be very slow. Impact summary: Applications that use OBJ_obj2txt() directly, or use any of the OpenSSL subsystems OCSP, PKCS7/SMIME, CMS, CMP/CRMF or TS with no message size limit may experience notable to very long delays when processing those messages, which may lead to a Denial of Service. An OBJECT IDENTIFIER is composed of a series of numbers - sub-identifiers - most of which have no size limit. OBJ_obj2txt() may be used to translate an ASN.1 OBJECT IDENTIFIER given in DER encoding form (using the OpenSSL type ASN1_OBJECT) to its canonical numeric text form, which are the sub-identifiers of the OBJECT IDENTIFIER in decimal form, separated by periods. When one of the sub-identifiers in the OBJECT IDENTIFIER is very large (these are sizes that are seen as absurdly large, taking up tens or hundreds of KiBs), the translation to a decimal number in text may take a very long time. The time complexity is O(n^2) with 'n' being the size of the sub-identifiers in bytes (*). With OpenSSL 3.0, support to fetch cryptographic algorithms using names / identifiers in string form was introduced. This includes using OBJECT IDENTIFIERs in canonical numeric text form as identifiers for fetching algorithms. Such OBJECT IDENTIFIERs may be received through the ASN.1 structure AlgorithmIdentifier, which is commonly used in multiple protocols to specify what cryptographic algorithm should be used to sign or verify, encrypt or decrypt, or digest passed data. Applications that call OBJ_obj2txt() directly with untrusted data are affected, with any version of OpenSSL. If the use is for the mere purpose of display, the severity is considered low. In OpenSSL 3.0 and newer, this affects the subsystems OCSP, PKCS7/SMIME, CMS, CMP/CRMF or TS. It also impacts anything that processes X.509 certificates, including simple things like verifying its signature. The impact on TLS is relatively low, because all versions of OpenSSL have a 100KiB limit on the peer's certificate chain. Additionally, this only impacts clients, or servers that have explicitly enabled client authentication. In OpenSSL 1.1.1 and 1.0.2, this only affects displaying diverse objects, such as X.509 certificates. This is assumed to not happen in such a way that it would cause a Denial of Service, so these versions are considered not affected by this issue in such a way that it would be cause for concern, and the severity is therefore considered low.
CVE-2022-42334 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Xen 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Xen 2024-02-04 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
x86/HVM pinned cache attributes mis-handling T[his CNA information record relates to multiple CVEs; the text explains which aspects/vulnerabilities correspond to which CVE.] To allow cachability control for HVM guests with passed through devices, an interface exists to explicitly override defaults which would otherwise be put in place. While not exposed to the affected guests themselves, the interface specifically exists for domains controlling such guests. This interface may therefore be used by not fully privileged entities, e.g. qemu running deprivileged in Dom0 or qemu running in a so called stub-domain. With this exposure it is an issue that - the number of the such controlled regions was unbounded (CVE-2022-42333), - installation and removal of such regions was not properly serialized (CVE-2022-42334).

CVE-2022-33749 1 Xen 1 Xapi 2024-02-04 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
XAPI open file limit DoS It is possible for an unauthenticated client on the network to cause XAPI to hit its file-descriptor limit. This causes XAPI to be unable to accept new requests for other (trusted) clients, and blocks XAPI from carrying out any tasks that require the opening of file descriptors.
CVE-2021-28706 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Xen 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Xen 2024-02-04 7.8 HIGH 8.6 HIGH
guests may exceed their designated memory limit When a guest is permitted to have close to 16TiB of memory, it may be able to issue hypercalls to increase its memory allocation beyond the administrator established limit. This is a result of a calculation done with 32-bit precision, which may overflow. It would then only be the overflowed (and hence small) number which gets compared against the established upper bound.
CVE-2005-4650 1 Joomla 1 Joomla\! 2024-02-02 5.0 MEDIUM N/A
Joomla! 1.03 does not restrict the number of "Search" Mambots, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption) via a large number of Search Mambots.
CVE-2008-1700 1 Interwoven 1 Worksite Web 2024-02-02 7.1 HIGH N/A
The Web TransferCtrl Class 8,2,1,4 (iManFile.cab), as used in WorkSite Web 8.2 before SP1 P2, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a large number of SendNrlLink directives, which opens a separate window for each directive.
CVE-2008-5180 1 Microsoft 1 Office Communicator 2024-02-02 5.0 MEDIUM N/A
Microsoft Communicator, and Communicator in Microsoft Office 2010 beta, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a large number of SIP INVITE requests, which trigger the creation of many sessions.
CVE-2009-2540 1 Opera 1 Opera Browser 2024-02-02 4.3 MEDIUM N/A
Opera, possibly 9.64 and earlier, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a large integer value for the length property of a Select object, a related issue to CVE-2009-1692.
CVE-2024-23820 1 Openfga 1 Openfga 2024-02-01 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
OpenFGA, an authorization/permission engine, is vulnerable to a denial of service attack in versions prior to 1.4.3. In some scenarios that depend on the model and tuples used, a call to `ListObjects` may not release memory properly. So when a sufficiently high number of those calls are executed, the OpenFGA server can create an `out of memory` error and terminate. Version 1.4.3 contains a patch for this issue.
CVE-2023-34455 1 Xerial 1 Snappy-java 2024-02-01 N/A 7.5 HIGH
snappy-java is a fast compressor/decompressor for Java. Due to use of an unchecked chunk length, an unrecoverable fatal error can occur in versions prior to 1.1.10.1. The code in the function hasNextChunk in the fileSnappyInputStream.java checks if a given stream has more chunks to read. It does that by attempting to read 4 bytes. If it wasn’t possible to read the 4 bytes, the function returns false. Otherwise, if 4 bytes were available, the code treats them as the length of the next chunk. In the case that the `compressed` variable is null, a byte array is allocated with the size given by the input data. Since the code doesn’t test the legality of the `chunkSize` variable, it is possible to pass a negative number (such as 0xFFFFFFFF which is -1), which will cause the code to raise a `java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException` exception. A worse case would happen when passing a huge positive value (such as 0x7FFFFFFF), which would raise the fatal `java.lang.OutOfMemoryError` error. Version 1.1.10.1 contains a patch for this issue.
CVE-2023-20155 1 Cisco 1 Firepower Management Center 2024-01-25 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
A vulnerability in a logging API in Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to become unresponsive or trigger an unexpected reload. This vulnerability could also allow an attacker with valid user credentials, but not Administrator privileges, to view a system log file that they would not normally have access to. This vulnerability is due to a lack of rate-limiting of requests that are sent to a specific API that is related to an FMC log. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a high rate of HTTP requests to the API. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition due to the FMC CPU spiking to 100 percent utilization or to the device reloading. CPU utilization would return to normal if the attack traffic was stopped before an unexpected reload was triggered.
CVE-2023-20108 1 Cisco 1 Unified Communications Manager Im And Presence Service 2024-01-25 N/A 7.5 HIGH
A vulnerability in the XCP Authentication Service of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service (Unified CM IM&P) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a temporary service outage for all Cisco Unified CM IM&P users who are attempting to authenticate to the service, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. This vulnerability is due to improper validation of user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted login message to the affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause an unexpected restart of the authentication service, preventing new users from successfully authenticating. Exploitation of this vulnerability does not impact Cisco Unified CM IM&P users who were authenticated prior to an attack.
